  1. Scottsdale Art Factory has stolen our photos from the internet associated with our web site Antlers by Cody. I became aware of this when Little big Horns who is also an antler builder called me to get me aware of this as he also is a victum to the crime and fighting them. When I confronted them they told me that they could go anywhere on the internet and take any picture they want doesn;t matter if they have a copy right or not to them. They will change them up alittle to make their own. If you look at the close up views of the photos you can clearly see where they have changed them or called them one kind of antler when it is another. Please help us stop them. Thank you!!

  2. Scottsdale Art Factory, 7407 E Greenway RD, Scottsdale, AZ has taken my photos also & used them on their website. They obviously do not know about the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 "DMCA". I emailed Art Factory yesterday & asked them to pull my photos & links off of all of their sites. www.artfactory.com & www.customhardwarefactory.com, to name a few.

This is the response from mjerry@artfactory.com:

"no it is not ours it might be one of our dealers and i have sent it to him if you call me a lier one more time this help is over"

My response was "What is a lier?" LOL

It appears most of the photos on this website have been stolen.

  9. They still have one of our photo's on their website in a living room setting they changed the socket design in photo shop to look different. We personally build this chandelier for a customer here who needed a chandelier to fit his long table. My husband designed it himself with nothing else out there like it. They super imposed it in a living room setting and called it theirs. I am agreeing with the one comment if they have made several of these chandeliers then where is their own photo....

  10. I have recently discovered that Scottsdale Art Factory has stolen an image of one of my products directly from my web site. They altered a couple of elements in the image, but it is clearly my photo and my product! And what's so funny about it (not) is that in the title of the product it says it is "From The Historical Record"... more like stolen directly from the internet.

Fraudulent company. Do not do business with Scottsdale Art Factory.

  14. Just An Explanation Of Our Design Policy To Clarify How This Blog May Have Gotten Started.

First of all it is a matter of record at the BBB on the results of this complaining antler guy and his hateful and unreasonable attitude on how possibly his photos may have gotten on our site and our immediate removal prior to our verifying that they were ever his to begin with. Later turns out he has no proof that he holds any copyrights to any of the photos he claimed were his. Even then we still removed them. Due to his inability to understand our policy he continues in some remote hope we believe driven by his greed and envy of our long established products. He continues a vendetta as evidenced in the following all connected blog comments. Note the dates.

It is published on our catalog pages and web pages and has been long before this guy was ever in business our design policies and methods. These are posted on every page of our web site. Could We Be More Clear ?

    1. Wow, well I guess that puts to bed all of the above. It is common practice to use photographs not necessarily just to show what you have manufactured but also to show your capabilities. Photographs on the World Wide Web are up for grabs by anyone unless clearly copyrighted. Most of the above comments do seem like sour grapes borne from perhaps a little jealousy?

My only other comment to Scottsdale Art Factory, having visited your wonderful website is - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, and more importantly, KEEP IT IN AMERICA.

I wish there were more Companies like yours who seem to pride yourselves on "Made in America"

      Well done and GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!

  16. I'm glad I found this blog, because the sheer volume of this same complaint over and over tells me something wrong is going on. The Art Factory's response of "we will take it down IF YOU CAN PROVE OWNERSHIP" (emphasis mine) leads me to believe they don't ask to use another company's image, they just take it. They attempt to justify it publicly by stating "The rest have been sent to us for design uses, given permission to use for design purposes etc." Hmm, if somebody sends an image from Company A to Company B for Company B to copy, that somebody CAN'T give permission for Company B to use that image publicly; it doesn't belong to them!

Final point: I'm more than skeptical about the "Anonymous" comment above...meaning, it seems like someone from the Art Factory themselves posted that. The statement "Photographs on the World Wide Web are up for grabs by anyone unless clearly copyrighted" is just plain wrong.

Too many red flags with this "Art Factory". I'm steering well clear of these guys.

  21. H.J. NiCK does worse than misuse photos of others. He surrounds himself with those he can manipulate, those who are desperate, those who he can control because they have no choice. Examples: first he used illegals [slaves] to build his products until the Sheriff made an example out of his company with a raid. Now HJ NICK employs parolees and ex-cons , pays minimum wage to build his overpriced goods. recruits those who have drinking or addiction problems or recruits broke college graduates desperate for money. he has many lawsuits for many reasons. many angry customers with many unanswered complaints. many collection accounts from many vendors.dodging many calls and many process servers. Business on verge of collapse. beware vendors, service providers, customers.

  25. I am glad I found this blog. I am owner and sole proprietor of Ebben Custom Cabinets & Furniture in Lincoln Ne. I was contacted by a client from Nevada to build a Frank Lloyd Wright style Table and Chairs for her. The Chairs are my own design. She asked me if the photo of the table and chairs on my website. www.ebbenwoodworking.com was my own work or a stock photo. I replied to her that ALL of the work and images on my site are my own. She said that the reason she was asking is because there was a picture "just exactly like mine" on the their website, Here is the link http://www.artfactory.com/dining-table-frank-lloyd-wright-20th-cen-america-wdt6655-p-8451.html AND they are claiming the work and design of my table and chairs. I called them as a customer and inquired about the table and chairs. She said they had no distributors in my area and could not give me a price or any details about MY table and chairs. While I am flattered they thought so highly of my work. This is theft from my website. This company was even featured on one of the mainstream news programs. I think they should do another feature showing how they steal others ideas and claim them as their own. I built this table for a customer can prove all I say is true. The description they have written about the chairs is completely false. I plan on sending them a legal take down notice. How despicable this is and what kind of character is this H.J Nick. The designer for my customer said that the quality of work coming out of this company is very crude and looks like the wood work coming out of Mexico.

We are sorry if a customer brings us a design they would like made from your site or anyone else and wants us to hand make it. That isn't our fault or considered stealing. These posts are very clear that competitors are trying to cause issues with our company. Duane, if someone came to you with a photo of ours and wanted you to design it, you would turn them away? No. It's called inspiration.

I've seen this happen. 3. HJ Nick does not exist. He is their owner, Jerry Nicholas Hardas. It is a pseudonym. 4. They claim to have existed before AZ was a state. This is a complete lie. They started by selling furniture on the side of the road with a trailer sometime in the late 80's or 90's.

    2. I will speak to this directly as I am the designer that produced the drawings for this table. There were several modifications to my original drawings by request of our customer (THE MAN WHO PAID FOR THE TABLE) to fulfill his wishes on how the table would look once completed. Any similarities or dissimilarities to some other manufactures table has nothing to do with anything other than giving MY customer what he or she wants because HE or SHE is paying me to do what they want. If I am successful at my profession I satisfy, first and foremost, my clients wishes and directions. If I did not I would end up some washed up has been that has nothing else to do but whine and complain about why they are not satisfying anyone with their work. Get a clue. You work for whomever is paying you. It really is so simple.
